Hiroshi Sakamoto is a Japan patent attorney. He studied computer science and electronic engineering at National Institute of Technology, Tokuyama College (1987-1992). He also studied artificial intelligence at Kyushu Institute of Technology (1992-1994). In addition, he studied Entrepreneurship at Graduate School for Creative Cities, Osaka City University (2004-2005).
He has been admitted as a Japan patent attorney since 1997. He has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications at the Japan Patent Office(JPO). His technical experience encompasses a wide range of technologies including software, wireless communication, artificial intelligence, semiconductor, materials, mechanical engineering, and biotechnology.
He has substantial experience coordinating patent proceedings internationally. He has broad experience with the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) system, as well as a knowledge of the procedures of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the European Patent Office(EPO), the State Intellectual Property Office(SIPO) of the People’s Republic of China, Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO) Taiwan Intellectual Property Office(TIPO) and other patent offices around the world.
He also has experience with design and trademark preparation and prosecution; patent, design and trademark infringement; invalidation trial, opinions on patentability, invalidity and right to use. He has been certificated as a IP litigator. He is a member of Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA), Intellectual Property Association of Japan(IPAJ), the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence(JSAI).
